Attendance Calculator

For the 75% rule at AKTU and IPU. Work it out for one subject at a time — attendance is counted per subject, and the average across all of them is not what detains anybody.

Take the two numbers off your attendance sheet. Count every class the subject held, including the ones you missed.

Fill this in and the answer will say whether the target can still be reached at all.

Common questions

How much attendance is compulsory at AKTU and IPU?
75% in each subject. Both universities allow a relaxation on medical or duty grounds, but it is granted by the college on documents submitted at the time — not claimed at the end of the semester.
How many classes can I miss and still have 75%?
It depends on how many have already been held, not on a fixed number. Out of 60 classes you need 45, so you may miss 15 — but if you have already missed 12, only 3 are left to you.
Is attendance counted per subject or overall?
Per subject, which is what catches students out. An overall average of 78% still gets you detained in the one subject sitting at 62%, so work it out for each subject separately.
What happens if I fall below the requirement?
You can be detained in that subject and stopped from sitting the end semester exam, which means carrying it to the next year. If the number is going the wrong way, the time to speak to the department is now, not in the last week.
Is anything I type here saved?
No. The whole calculation runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored — close the tab and it is gone.
